Píntag is one of the oldest and most important rural parishes in Pichincha. It is located on the slopes of the Antisana volcanic system, an area of vital importance for the provision of water for the city of Quito, and a unique refuge for species such as the Andean condor. Despite this, there is an imbalance between nature and productive activity, based on commercial agriculture and cattle ranching. The San Isidro Agro-ecological Farm is located there, a space dedicated to promoting the recovery of the link with nature, without losing production opportunities, under an agroecological vision. It has areas dedicated to native forest remnants, passive ecosystem recovery, silvopasture with Andean alpacas, agroecological cultivation, composting, breeding of minor species, production of silversides, egg incubator and an experimental greenhouse.

We intend to develop hummingbird and orchid gardens, as well as facilities for the production of handicrafts, reception of volunteers, students, researchers and organized groups for training, storage and marketing.

La Granja promotes agroecology and the recovery of Andean camelids as a way to replace cattle breeding and its high environmental cost.

It facilitates observation exercises for ecological recovery, agroecological planting, training and awareness, guided visits to the farm and to the farms of the members of the Network. It is also a point of connection and departure of tourist routes linked to the Antisana, Sincholagua and Laguna de La Mica.
